Twenty students including ten girls of St. Stephens College, New Delhi who are on a Tour to J&K interacted with the students of the Government Higher Secondary School and Degree College, here today.The Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mohammad Aijaz who was the chief guest at the function also interacted heartily with the guest students and replied their queries patiently. The students shared their valuable feedback and experience of their tour and stay at Ramban.The DDC impressed upon the students to share their experiences about Tourism and Hospitality of J&K among their fellow colleagues. He also briefed them about the profile and the diverse culture of Ramban district. He also appreciated the role of the Indian Army for sponsoring their tour and said it would largely help in developing people to people contact in the country and promote national integration.
Led by Professor, Dr. Manjula Singh the students were accompanied by the officers of the Rashtriya Rifles- the sponsors of the tour.The visiting group witnessed the proceedings in the Smart Class wherein the 12th standard students of the school took one hour long lesson from a Zoology teacher of I-Scholar Institute, Bangalore. The students later interacted with one another.The Smart Class having the facility of a projector, a Desk Top computer, screen and a Dongle with 3-G internet connection is provided by the Army under its Sadbhavna Operation.Later, they were greeted with a cultural programme by the students of the Degree College following their interaction with one another.A memento was also presented to DC by the College Principal, Dr. Yudhvir Singh, Prof. Shehnaz Ganai and Dr. Manjula.
