Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq, on behalf of Education Minister, today informed that number of Government schools were clubbed or relocated with the aim to provide quality education by providing adequate number of teachers and improved infrastructure there.Replying to a question of Qaiser Jamsheed Lone, Abdul Haq informed that most of the clubbed schools were housed in rented buildings. He said the Government owned buildings spared in the process are proposed to be used for other activities of School Education Department including Adult Literacy Centres as well as libraries.
The Minister further informed that there is no proposal of reorganization of Educational Zones or creation of New Zones.Sajad Kichloo and Naresh Gupta raised supplementary to the main question.7.57 Crore spent on sports activities in last five years: Sunil Sharma Minister of State for Youth Services and Sports, Sunil Kumar Sharma today replying to a question of Firdous Ahmad Tak, informed that the Government is providing financial assistance to various Sports Associations to promote sports activities among the youth and an amount to the tune of Rs.7.57 crore was spent in the last five years on various sports activities in the State. The Minister informed that a number of playgrounds and other facilities have been developed and upgraded for the promotion of sports activities in all the districts of the state.Sunil Sharma informed that various sportspersons of the State participated in national and international events in different sports disciplines and categories and brought laurels to the state. He said that the participants won 282 Gold Medals and 356 Silver medals in various sports activities during the last five years, adding that 67 players took part in various international sports competitions.
