Minister of State for Relief and Rehabilitation, Ajay Nanda today informed that as per report of Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, 3742 flood affected dokawalas of Srinagar were paid Rs. 3000 and Rs. 2300 as relief in respect of fully and severally/partially damaged dokasas as per SDRF norms.While replying to a question of Mubarak Gul, the Minister informed that for providing additional relief to these dokawalas, the matter has been taken up with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Government of India for financial assistance under PMNRF, saying that the matter is under examination by NDMA.The Minister further said that some residential quarters under possession of Government employees and political persons were also affected due to September-2014 floods. He said belongings of the inmates were also damaged in these quarters, but no relief was paid for the damaged belongings of inmates as there is no such provision of relief as per SDRF norms for the damage of belongings affected by any calamity.
