Punjab To Focus On Practical Training To Dairy Farmers: Gulzar Singh Ranike

The Punjab Government has decided to impart professional and practical training to the youth of the state engaged in dairy farming so that they are able to learn and adapt innovative techniques in the dairy farming sector. Disclosing this here today, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries & Dairy Development Minister, Punjab, Mr. Gulzar Singh Ranike said that the training would commence in different training centers of the State from 4 July,2016. The experts from the Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Ludhiana, Dairy Research institution Karnal and dairy development department would guide the progressive farmers who are engaged in dairy farming and eager to keep abreast of latest trends in the field. The training would be specially focused on high quality cattle breeding, milk products and proper attention to the health care of milching animals. He said that this novel initiative of practical training is especially essential for the people engaged in the sector to have hands on approach in order to make dairy farming a profitable venture.Besides, relevant literature would also be provided free of cost to the trainees.On this occasion, Director Dairy Development Punjab Mr. Inderjit Singh said that forthcoming batch of six month training will start  in training centres  at Beeja (Ludhiana),  Chatamali (Ropar) , Gill(Moga), Abul Khurana (Sri Mukarsar Sahib), Sardulgarh (Mansa), Tarntaran, Phagwara ( Kapurthala) and Verka ( Sri Amritsar Sahib). An interview of candidates would be conducted in training centers on 27 June, 2016 at 11 am. The interested candidates should be matriculate and with age between 18 to 45 years besides possessing  five milking animals. The cost of prospectus   is Rs. 100 and is available from all concerned deputy directors/ Dairy Development Officers  in training centers .
