No delay in cost estimates reported in works under CDF, MPLAD: Abdul Haq Khan

Minister for Rural Development & Pachayati Raj, Abdul Haq, today informed the House that estimates for taking up developmental works under CDF and MPLAD funds are prepared within the prescribed time limit.The Minister while replying, on behalf of Minister for Planning, Development & Monitoring Department, to a question of Jugal Kishore Sharma informed that no specific instances of delay in preparation of cost estimates have been reported to the Planning, Development & Monitoring Department. Abdul Haq informed that to ensure optimum utilization of funds, the cumulative cost of small works costing less than Rs. 0.25 lakh recommended by Legislators shall in no case exceed Rs 5 lakh in a particular financial year. He further informed that only those works are required to be taken up in hand which can be completed within a span of one year, adding that in areas where working season is limited the concerned District Development Commissioners, subject to the approval of the concerned legislator may also sanction works to be completed within a period of 2 working seasons not exceeding two years in any case.Naresh Kumar Gupta and Qaisar Jamsheed Lone raised supplementaries to the main question.
