Minister for Forest, Ecology & Environment Lal Singh today, replying to a question of Dr Bashir Ahmad Veeri, informed the House that the Department is providing timber to the customers on ‘first come first serve’ basis.The Minister informed that the application forms are received either in concerned Divisional office or in Range offices and are forwarded to the concern field functionaries for verification. The applications are further verified by Block Forest Officers and then submitted to Divisional Office for sanction, he said.The Minister informed that the Department is in practice to simplify the sanction process   for the convenience of the customers. 

He informed that 5442 sanctions have been issued by the DFO Lidder during last year, while as  5687 applications were received in Bijbehara and Mattan ranges.Chaudhary Lal Singhfurther informed that 2400 previous sanctions have been cancelled by the DFO concerned. He said that there was huge number of back log sanctions of previous year pending in the Division which could not be operated as most of the sanction holders didn’t pursue it.GN Monga raised supplementary to the main question
