The Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone convened a meeting of senior officers of PHE, PDD, CAPD, SMC, JK, Muslim Wakf Board, JKSRTC, RTO, Legal Metrology, Food Safety, Health, Animal Husbandry, Poultry Development Officer to review the arrangements in connection with Holy Month of Ramadan.The Deputy Commissioner directed Power Development Department to ensure uninterrupted Power Supply (from 7.00 PM to 5.00 AM especially at the time of Iftar and Sehri) during the Holy month as already directed by Chief Minister. Further PHE Department was directed to ensure uninterrupted water supply. SMC will ensure proper sanitation/cleanliness in the Srinagar City particularly around Masjids and the places of congregations like Hazratbal, Jamia Masjid, Khankhai Moulla, Peer Dastigeer Sahib, Jenab Sahib Soura and Makdoom Sahib. He further directed CAPD/ Animal/Sheep Husbandry/ Poultry Dev. Departments to keep available essential commodities for the general public. He also directed JKSRTC/Transport Department to ensure plying of Buses upto late in the evening hours.Deputy Commissioner directed CAPD/ Food Safety/ Legal Metrological Departments/SMC to ensure regular market checking during the Holy month and take action against the violators. Food Safety Officer was directed to ensure checking of food shops throughout the city.
