Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq today, replying to a question of Dharambir Singh Oberoi, informed the House that work on 4-lanning of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH) is under progress and has been undertaken by National Highway Authority of India in six packages.The Minister informed that 97 percent work has been completed on NH from Jammu bypass to Udhampur bypass, 86 percent on Chenani - Nashri stretch including a 9 Km tunnel, about 61 percent on Banihal - Srinagar and 51 percent on Banihal - Qazigund road has been completed so far.The Minister informed that up-gradation of 25km Sangam Srigufwara NH via Khiram was sanctioned in 2015-16 under Central Road Fund (CRF) at a cost of Rs 46.09 crore for which tenders were floated. All out efforts are being made to maintain these roads as per availability of funds, he added.Dr Bashir Ahmad Veeri raised supplementary to the question.
