Minister for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and Law & Justice, Abdul Haq on behalf of Home Minister, replying to a question of Rani Gargi Blowria, informed the House that Rs.2.33 crore revenue was realized from compounding of challans for wrong parking during the last 3 years.The Minister informed that presently eight cranes hired by the Traffic Police Department have been deployed in the twin capital cities of Jammu and Srinagar and some other towns for lifting of wrongly parked vehicles. He informed that cranes have been hired after proper tendering for a period of 11 months with a provision of further extension on mutual agreement Basis.Abdul Haq informed that an amount of Rs 1.45 crore was paid to the owners of the cranes since 2011 He informed that there is no budgetary provision for purchase of cranes for the Police Department, adding that procurement of cranes can be examined as and when provisions in this regard are made.Fridous Tak raised supplementary to the main question.
