Better roads, civic amenities in border area govt’s priority: Sham Lal Chowdhary

Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control , Sham Lal Chowdhary today laid foundation stone of 25 meter double lanning span bridge at border village Hansuchak of Suchetgarh constituency.The Bridge would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.25 crore by R&B department.Member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma besides senior officers of PWD (R&B), PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control department accompanied the Minister.Addressing a mammoth gathering at Baspur Bangla, the Minister reiterated the commitment of the government to accelerate the development activities across the state.   He said that upgradation of road network, education, power, irrigation, PHE and health sector has been given priority by the government.Listing various development works and other projects taken up in the Suchetgarh Border area, the Minister said that improvement of roads and expansion of surface connectivity has been launched with a view to accelerate economic activities in these areas. He directed the officers to involve panchs and sarpanchs in implementation of the government schemes and works for need based development.

The Minister directed the concerned engineers/officers to undertake cleaning and augmentations of existing tube-wells as well as lift irrigation schemes besides provide irrigation water facility up to tail end.He underlined the need for translating the benefits of various schemes from paper to ground level adding that efforts are being made to provide safe drinking water in every nook and corner of the state.Speaking on the occasion, Jugal Kishore Sharma said that state and centre governments have taken several initiatives to uplift   farmer community and promote rural economy and people will soon see a change on the ground. He also stressed on the concerned officers to launch a mass awareness campaign to educate the people about   various schemes and programmes.Later, the Minister and MP inaugurated a bathroom at village   Choga constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 3 lakh.
