BJP Saturday said that the militant attacks on security forces in the Valley are “demoralizing our jawans” and such attacks should be taken seriously by the government.“Our jawans are demoralized after such attacks. Such attacks are serious issues,” BJP MLA from Nowshera, Ravindar Raina, said in the Lower House today. Two militant attacks have taken place in Anantnag district in the last two days in which five security forces personnel, including three BSF and two policemen, were killed.Raina rose up from the Treasury Benches in the Lower House and appealed Speaker Kavinder Gupta to inform the House about the attacks. The statement of Raina created uproar as Opposition Congress legislators led by Legislative party leader Nawang Rigzin Jora demanded a discussion about these attacks. “Such issues need to be discussed,” Jora said.He censured the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his diplomacy with Pakistan.“Diplomacy does not depends on the mood of your prime minister.

Your PM goes to Pakistan uninvited for a cup of tea. And Pakistan attacks you in return,” Jora told Raina. To this Raina said that the Congress is politicizing the attacks.Earlier, during the Question Hour the House witnessed uproar as BJP demanded the House to condemn the militant attacks.“The militant attacks from Pakistan have increased in the state which was leading to the loss of the precious lives of our jawans,” Raina said. The house should condemn it and a strict message should be sent to Pakistan to refrain from carrying such activities in the state,” he said.To this Independent legislator from Langate Er Abdul Rashid said the House should have condemned the Handwara killings also in which five civilians were killed.National Conference legislator, Ali Mohammad Sagar said that the attacks would impact the by-polls for the Anantnag Assembly seat that is slated to go for polls on June 22.Speaker Gupta said the House condemned the attack, saying such attacks shouldn’t have happened in the state.
