Tourism Dept to tap Indian diaspora in Cuba

Seeks Indian envoy’s help in easing travel advisory

Continuing its efforts to promote J&K’s tourism potential, the Directorate of Tourism, Kashmir Friday held meeting with Ambassador of India to Cuba Mr. T. Namgyal was also attended by the representative of the local travel trade bodies.In the meeting, the ambassador, who is also the son of the soil, assured Tourism Department of all the help from his Embassy to help promote J&K.The meeting was attended by Director Tourism Kashmir, Mr. Mahmood A Shah, Shamim Ahmad of JK Tourism Development Corporation and Deputy Director Tourism Kashmir (Publicity) Mr. Peerzada Zahoor.During the meeting, the tour operators said they would tap the Indian diaspora in Cuba as well as the neighbouring countries. The travel agents said the advisory on Cuban citizens on travelling to Kashmir is affecting tourist flow.The ambassador announced that he would do his best to promote J&K in that country.
