High Commissioner of India to Australia, Mr. Navdeep Singh Suri and Ambassador of India to Belgium Mr. Manjeev Singh Puri, today called on Prof.  Kaptan Singh Solanki, the Governor of Punjab and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh at Punjab Raj Bhavan.Discussing various issues at length with Ambassador and the High Commissioner, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki said that Punjab and Haryana both states are famous in the field of Agriculture. He said another area in which there was a major scope of cooperation is, in the fields of technology and Skill development. He said the state of Punjab has taken various initiatives to impart skill based education to student.He  said that it was a fact that when industry and institution will go hand in hand and cooperate with each other, more innovations can happen. He said the industry and institutions were inter-dependent on each other for new inventions and innovations to meet the multifarious demands of the society.

The Governor said another area in which we can focus was solar energy. He said that bold initiatives have already been taken for the generation of more power with focus on tapping solar energy to meet growing demand in different sector of economy which would help in saving electricity for industries.He said if all the three countries join hands and share their technical know how in these  areas then there would be lots of scope in further development and cooperation.Principal Secretary to Governor Mr. M.P. Singh was also briefed them regarding initiatives being taken by the Punjab Technical Department to promote skill development in the state.
