But the spring is infected as stone crusher and a petrol pump falls near the vicinity of the spring. Besides the pipeline is leaking at many places,” Abdul Hameed, a resident of Pinglen, told KNS.Chief Medical Officer, Pulwama, Dr Fayaz Ahmad, told KNS that the 17 residents have fallen ill due to contaminated water supplied by PHE. “I visited the village yesterday along with a team of doctors. We gave on spot treatment, chlorine tablets for water treatment, and health education to the residents,” Dr Fayaz told KNS.The CMO said that the due to immediate action, infection is under control. “We appealed the residents not to panic. And we also informed PHE officials about the contaminated water,” he said. Executing Engineer PHE, Ghulam Hassan Baig told KNS that the people have been advised to take boiled water.
