The Minister for Social Welfare Sajad Gani Lone today said the Anganwadi workers and Helpers are getting a monthly honorarium of Rs 3600 and Rs 1840 per month respectively.Responding to a question raised by Mr. Ramesh Arora, the Minister further stated in the Legislative Council that the share of state government in the honorarium is Rs 900 per month while central government contributes Rs 2700 per month.He informed the house that the room rent of Anganwadi centers has already been enhanced by the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development from Rs 750 to Rs 3000 in cities and Rs 200 to Rs 750 in villages subject to the conditions that the house owner provides 600 sqft area for the centre.Mr. Ramesh Arora, Mr. Sofi Yousuf, Mr. Firdous Tak, Mr.Saif-ud-din Bhat and Mr. Surinder Kumar Choudhary raised supplimentaries.
