Minister of State for Health and Medical Education, Housing and Urban Development Department and Social Welfare, Ms Asiea Naqash today laid foundation stone of Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Gratebal in Ganderbal district.Speaking on the occasion, Naqash said that the Government is determined to provide basic amenities to the people of the State particularly in far off areas. She said healthcare is always at the priority of the Government and they are sincere to fulfill the aspirations of the people. The minister sought public support for the execution of welfare projects being executed in their respective areas.The Minister said that all small, medium and large health institutions are being equipped with latest medical gadgets to improve diagnostic and treatment facilities. 

She said after completion of the PHC, the people won’t have to travel to other hospitals and hence will ease rush towards the other hospitals of the State. She said every effort would be taken to provide Medicare facilities in rural areas which forms prime objective of the government. She said these PHC centers would be equipped with modern facilities for the treatment of rural people at their doorstep.The Minister later interacted with the local residents who apprised the Minister about their grievances. Locals thanked the minister for fulfilling their long pending demand of healthcare facility in the village. Later, on Public demand minister passed directions for fencing of a local graveyard.During the visit, the Minister also inspected land identified for construction of a Housing Colony at Wakoora Ganderbal. She was accompanied by MLC Yasir Reshi, Secretary Health, Director Family Welfare, Assistant Commissioner Revenue and various officials of the concerned department.
