Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Choudhary Saturday visited Primary Health Centre (PHC) Badyal Brahamna in tehsil R.S Pura and took stock of the functioning of emergency services including laboratory, dental and X-ray machines.The Minister directed the CMO Jammu to take adequate steps to improve facilities in the PHC and provide quality healthcare to the people. He also inspected the x-ray section and found that the x-ray machine is not fully functioning due to non-availability of x-ray technician. He asked the CMO to make available the x-ray technician on alternative days in PHC to avoid inconvenience to the people. He asked the hospital staff to maintain hygienic environment in the health institution. On the occasion, the people of the area put forth various demands and problems being faced by them. They demanded ambulance and generator set for emergency service in the hospital. The Minister assured the people that their genuine demands will be fulfilled in a time bound manner. He asked the concerned to complete all formalities for purchasing new ambulance. He said that under Border Area Development Programme more ambulances will be provided to the other healthcare centres   in Suchetgarh constituency.The Minister called upon the medical fraternity to set new benchmarks to improve the quality of healthcare in the health institutions across the state so that a visible impact is created on the ground. He also stressed the need for ensuring complete transparency, accountability at all levels. He directed the medicos and par medicos to focus on the welfare of the patient by creating neat and clean environment in the hospital.Later, the Minister visited Hansu Chak and inspected the proposed site for Span Bridge. He directed the concerned agency to start work after the rainy season is over.The Minister also visited historical shrine of Data Pama Jola Sando at Village Samka and prayed for the peace and welfare of the state.The Management committee of the shrine demanded construction of langer hall and upgradation of approach road to the shrine. The Minister assured the committee that their demands will redressed soon.
