Rashmi Verma, IAS, Secretary Textiles, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India paid a visit to CSR&TI, Central Silk Board, Pampore on Friday and inaugurated the newly constructed training building.She was accompanied by Dr. Kavita Gupta, IAS, Textile commissioner, Dr. H. Nagesh Prabhu, IFS, Member Secretary, Central Silk Board and Dr. Malik Farooq, Director, Sericulture Development Department J&K besides Dr. S. P. Sharma, Director, CSR&TI, Pampore.During the visit she interacted with the scientists of the Institute and visited the mulberry farm and inspected the commercial rearing being conducted at the Institute under Institute Village Linkage Programme.She appreciated the work carried out by the Scientists of this prestigious Institute for the development of the bivoltine sericulture in this region. 

During the meeting she ensured that all financial support will be made available for the percolation of technologies developed by this institute in the field so that the real stake holders are benefitted.On this occasion Director, CSR&TI, Pampore made a brief presentation on the activities being carried out in North West India for the development of sericulture. Director, SDD put forth his demands of financial support required in the post cocoon sector for the stabilization of the cocoon markets. It was ensured that sufficient funds will be made available for this purpose.Member Secretary, Central Silk Board, Bangalore thanked the visiting dignitaries and ensured that the work for the upliftment of silk industry in North West India and J&K in particular will be given due attention.
