Expressing happiness over the election results of the five states, the former Punjab BJP President Shri Kamal Sharma has stated that the results would have an impact on the Punjab elections as well. "The way Congress has been decimated in the elections, it is writing on the wall that SAD-BJP alliance would score a hat-trick by registering victory in Punjab in the state assembly polls due for early next year", asserted Shri Sharma, immediately after the declaration of the election results in which Congress has suffered a humiliating defeat. In a release issued here today, Shri Sharma stated that election results clearly indicate that the acceptance of the saffron party has seen a very positive trend all across the country. He further said, "At the same time, the results is a rubber stamp on the good governance of Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the centre."

Shri Sharma stated that Congress should learn a lesson from these results and stop playing the politics of confrontation and should rather cooperate with the union government, which is dedicatedly working for the all round development of the nation. "The negative and destructive politics being pursued by Congress has been rejected by the electorate", he pointed out.On BJP's grand victory in Assam with two-third majority for the first time and party's beginning of getting its candidates elected to the West Bengal and Kerala State Assembly as well as the increase in the vote share in these states, Shri Sharma congratulated the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and BJP National President Shri Amit Shah.
