Provincial Youth National Conference President Ajaz Jan on Wednesday lambasted PDP-BJP Government for aggravating the problems of 2014- rain- and-flood hit people in the districts like Poonch and Rajouri, saying that despite tall claims no compensation has been provided to the sufferers. In a statement issued to KNS, Jan took strong exception to the deliberations of District Development Board, which met in Poonch yesterday and found no mention of the sufferings of people. He described this meeting just an eyewash.Provincial YNC President said that the Board had nothing new to offer as it discussed the projects which were taken up during the tenure of Omar Abdullah as Chief Minister.Jan expressed anguish over perpetual delay in provision of solar lights despite lapse of 15 months, saying the list had been formulated after a massive exercise by the previous government. He attributed malafide political interests as the cause for delay and urged the administration to eschew myopic tendencies and ensure provision of these lights to actual beneficiaries. He took a jibe on the insensitive coalition and said that they were making mockery of themselves by claiming credit for the Medical College at Rajouri which was sanctioned by the earlier government.Referring to various pressing issues confronting to the border district, Jan sought completion of the Sher-e-Kashmir Bridge besides ensuring rations to people as per previous scale. He expressed dismay over erratic power and water supply and said the present dispensation is suffering from developmental inertia. (KNS)
