Ishtaq Ahmad Drabu and Mr. Imran Khan, President and General Secretary, respectively, of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association of the Deaf (JKCAD), accompanied by cricketers Mr. Umar Ashraf and Mr. Muzaffar Ahmad and Mr. Peer Shahid, Interpreter, met Governor N.N Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.Mr. Shahid apprised the Governor about the excellent performances of Umar Ashraf and Muzaffar Ahmad in the recently concluded Deaf World Cup which was held in Dubai. Through Interpreter Shahid the players and officials discussed the various problems which are being faced by them including sponsorships for enabling the talented special youth in pursuing sports and games and the lack of special schools and classes in the State Government educational institutions. The Governor appreciated their problems and observed that he would take up the same with the concerned authorities. He wished the two cricket players high success in future Deaf World Cup Championships and assured financial support of Rs. two lakh for the Cricket Association of the Deaf.
