CPI(M) leader and MLA Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has called for united efforts by all secular and likeminded forces to desist the designs of RSS and BJP to further erode Article 370 which has been rendered to a mere caricature. The special status guaranteed under this article to J&K has been seized from time to time by the central regimes in convenience with rulers of the state and what less has been left is being further eroded. Warning about the serious repercussions of eroding Article 370, Tarigami said that all regimes at the centre and in the state have by hook or crook infringed the constitutional and democratic rights of the people and by ignoring the public concerns and burning issues. This was stated by Tarigami while addressing a public rally in Banumullah Kulgam.
Referring to the New Industrial Policy and setting up of Sainik colonies, he said that present dispensation is trying to encouraging outsider investors and entrepreneurs to further aggravate the unemployment and letting the state resources to the outsiders for exploitation. This he said shall further alienate the youth and the people of state. Any move to weaken and erosion the article 370 will be dealt with heavy hands by the people of the state. He appealed the people of the state to defeat any designs to dilute the special status of Jammu & Kashmir.CPI(M) leaders Mohammad Yousf Lone, Mohd Afzal Parry and Ab. Majeed said that people are facingscarcity of essential commodities despite tall claims by the administration. People have been deprived of ration, sugar and kerosene oil .They urged the government to take immediate measures to ensure availability of these daily needs. They said that people are largely in deep economic distress. The sufferings of the people have increased manifold as the public services are defunct and government machinery is insensitive. (KNS)
