Minister of State for Health & Medical Education, Housing & Urban Development and Social Welfare, Ms Asiea Naqash today said thet government under the leadership the chief minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti, is keen to provide quality healthcare across the State.While visiting Mirza Muhammad Afzal Beigh Memorial Hospital (MMABMH) in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, Ms Asiea said that government would ensure that people get hassle-free healthcare facilitates in government-run hospitals. The Minister took stock of the Medicare facilities being provided to the patients at the hospital.The minister was accompanied by District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Syed Abid Rashid Shah, Director Local Bodies, Mr Tufail Mattoo and other senior officers of Health; Housing and Urban departments were accompanying the Minister.The Minister directed the hospital Management to ensure cleanliness in and around the hospital premises.

The hospital authorities ensure quality healthcare facilities to the patients. You should treat the patients with good care and utmost professionalism so that they cannot be referred to the hospital,” she told officials. The minister took round different wards including Post Maternal, General Ward and OPD in order to interact with the patients and enquired about the medicare facilities being provided to them at the hospital. The minister directed hospital authorities to make sure that the patients get canteen facilities till late hours. Earlier minister listened to the grievances of the patients and attendants to which she assured that all possible help would be provided to people. People also demanded that the bed capacity should be enhanced by constructing another story of the hospital.Later the Minister also inspected Sport Stadium, Anantnag and site of Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) at Mhandikadal. At Sports Stadium, the Minister directed for construction of fencing and installation of street lights immediately.The Minister asked the Local Bodies department to upload the e-tendering for STP, Mhandikadal within stipulated time frame.Interacting with the people on the occasion, the Minister said that the Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti is committed to provide equitable development to the people of all the three regions of the State. She said government was also committed to provide better health care facilities to the people at their door steps. She said that efforts are afoot to upgrade the basic infrastructure in all core sectors.
