The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, today flagged-off bus service for the remote area of Gurez in Bandipora district.While flagging-off the 25-seater bus the Div Com said the administration is taking steps to make the journey risk-free and will further take steps to ease the travel on the road.On the occasion, Managing Director SRTC informed the Divisional Commissioner that the department has kept fare of Rs 250 per person.He was further told that SRTC is also taking steps to connect far-flung areas of the state by plying buses in these areas so as to facilitate the travel of the residents and has also introduced electronic ticketing machines.The Divisional Commissioner also witnessed trial show of two luxury buses which were recently procured by the SRTC.  The buses cost Rs1.40 crore each and each bus is 40-seater and has been brought for the first time in the state. GM Maintenance & Parking, GM Load, GM Operations Kashmir and other officials of SRTC were present on the occasion.
