As a part of Chinar Corps Centenary celebrations Army reaches out to the Ex Servicemen residing in far flung areas of Valley with an aim to address their concerns at Haiderbeig Garrison. The Ex servicemen Mela received an emphatic response from the Ex servicemen from Haiderbeig and adjoining areas. Over 400 Ex Servicemen, Veer Naries, widows from the distts of Baramulla & Pattan attended the Mela & benefitted by the informative talks delivered by the representative of various institutes.The event was attended by Brigadier Shabih Haider Naqvi, commander of the Haiderbeig Garrison along with representatives from the Ex servicemen Cell & ECHS Baramulla, Zila Sainik Welfare Office, Baramulla and JAK LI Records. All the representatives interacted with the Ex servicemen and gave a patient hearing to their problems and suggested measures to resolve them. This opportunity was utilised by most of the Ex servicemen to resolve their pending issues. Medical care was also provided as doctors from the civil and Army provided medication & advice to the needy persons.
Brigadier Naqvi addressed the gathering & assured the Ex servicemen, Veer Naries, widows of the continued & unstinted support from the Army. He deliberated upon the various schemes and initiatives being undertaken by the Army to uphold the interest of their brethren who have hung up their uniforms. The event provided a platform to the Ex servicemen to have their problems resolved in a suitable manner as all representatives from concerned fields were present to give them on spot answers to their queries. The Ex Servicemen appreciated the initiative taken by local Army Unit and expressed their desire for more such interactions. (KNS)
