Accusing authorities of denying rehabilitation package to uninfluenced flood victims, National Youth Wing President of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), Sanjay Saraf Thursday demanded impartial probe in the matter.Addressing a presser here at hotel Lal Rukh, Saraf said that blue-eyed persons were provided double rehabilitation packages for the single structure.“The poor and uninfluenced flood victims in Habba Kadal constituency were denied even the promised rehabilitation,” he added.

He alleged that the local legislator of Habba Kadal has failed to take developmental works in the area.“The MLA has added miseries to the local population after asking the authorities to dismantle marriage hall at Gadood Bagh. There are scores of scheduled marriage ceremonies which are being postponed due to non-availability of marriage hall,” he added.“The marriage hall in question is the property of Handicrafts Department. Without taking up the matter of any repairing or reconstruction with the authorities, the MLA asked one of the contractors to dismantle the hall,” he said, adding that the authorities should conduct a probe in this regard and the genuine grievances of people should be redressed forthwith.

“There was no proposal for its dismantling or repairing, the contractor, however, dismantled it. Now the local population is running from pillar to post to get the hall reconstructed,” he said.He said that there is lot of resentment against National Conference on the ground and people who voted for NC legislator are repenting as why they voted for her.“Kashmiris are secular. We have our own identity and that identity is Kashmiryat and universal brotherhood. It is because of this secular face that people from Habba Kadal constituency are joining LJP,” he said.He added that keeping developmental works at standstill is one of the reasons that people from this constituency are joining LJP.Meanwhile, scores of NC workers Thursday joined LJP during the press conference. Those who joined LJP include, Abdul Rashid Bhat, Umar Farooq Chicken, Muhammad Nabi Sajad, Bashir Ahmad Hawai, Mehraj-ud-din, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, Parvez Ahmad Raja, Hilal HAmad Lone, Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, Muhammad Shafi Sofi, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat and others.Saraf welcomed the party workers and urged them to strengthen the party.“The LJP will redress the grievances of people,” he said.
