Red Cross Bus -‘Qafila’ flagged off to raise donations

A week long Red Cross programme organized by District Administration was given a ceremonial start by flagging off the Red Cross Bus ‘Qafila’ by District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz in the presence of district officers and locals.The bus carrying volunteers of NCC and Quick Response Team (QRT) would collect donations for District Red Cross Society from the public to be used in the district during the time of crisis or emergency.Speaking on the occasion the DDC informed that the volunteers shall also spread mass awareness about traffic rules among people and counseling of drivers in their respective areas.DDC also requested for greater participation in the Red Cross activities and asked people to contribute generously for raising the corpus amount under Red Cross Fund in the district. He said that enhancement in the enrollment of the DRCS volunteers, upgrading of DRCS infrastructure, promoting blood donation and maintaining the unity in diversity would be the priority during the Red Cross Week.
