Mirwaiz Umar Farooq meets delegation of prominent Islamic jurists

Exchange ideas about problems being faced by Muslim Ummah

A delegation of prominent Muftis, Ulema and Islamic scholars led by Vice Chancellor of Dar-ul-Aloom Deoband, Mufti Muhammad Abu al-Qasim Nomani called on Jammu Kashmir Muttahida Majls-e-Ulema chief, Mirwaiz Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq at his Nigeen residence.In a statement issued to KNS, the delegation comprised of Jamaat-e-Ulema-e-Hind President, Moulana Qari Muhammad Usman, the Nazim of the Amaarat Sharia Board, Moulana Mufti Muizzuddin, Sheikh-ul-Hadees Mufti Salman Mansoorpuri, Mufti Abdullah Maroofi, Mufti Shabir Ahmad, Qari Ahmad Abdullah, Dar-ul-Aloom Rahimiya Rector, Rehmatullah Mir Qasimi, Mufti Nazir Ahmad Qasmi and several other Islamic scholars.During their brief meeting with the Mirwaz, they exchanged ideas about the problems being faced by the Muslims Ummah throughout the world and stressed for promoting the cause of unity on religious and community lines.They also discussed in detail the lost pride of the Muslim community over the years and for restoring it.

On the occasion, the Mirwaiz appreciated the contributions of the Dar-ul-Aloom Deoband and said that its alumni had developed religious, scholarly and conscientious relations from the start and called for making these relations even stronger.He told the visiting delegation that Jammu Kashmir, which had from the very beginning shown religious and sectarian brotherhood but now-a-day various hidden forces and agencies were trying to arouse sectarian tensions and tearing the social fabric of Kashmir apart.Appreciating the role played by the Mirwaiz in keeping the religious and sectarian brotherhood alive in a situation of political unrest, the visiting delegation said the way he was dispatching his political, religious and social duties were worth appreciation.
