To ensure smooth traffic regulation in Srinagar City, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon Friday convened a meeting which was attended by Transport Commissioner, IG Police Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Commissioner SMC besides representatives of Kashmir Traders Association.
The Div Com sought cooperation from traders of Srinagar and said they have role for maintaining and regulating traffic in the City. He said traders should not encourage anybody to park vehicle on roads besides won’t allow street vendors to block traffic anywhere in a city.The meeting was informed that the concerned departments including Traffic and SMC along with Traders Association will start a drive to discourage shopkeeper from blocking/encroaching roads with their stock.
He also directed that all sumo vehicles and buses will be allowed to stop their vehicles only at the designated stops to reduce traffic jams. He also said that the concerned departments and traders shall meet every first Saturday of the month to discuss the traffic management so that traffic system is improved in the City.
