With an objective to provide better services and facilities to the public, Rs. 500 crore has been spent for various development works in block Dera Bassi and Rs. 200 crore will also be spent for the same during current financial year.  This was stated by Chief Parliamentary Secretary Industry & Commerce Sh. N.K.Sharma while addressing the gathering after inaugurating a cow ranch spanning to 30 acre worth Rs. 5 crore constructed at village Magra falling under Nagar Panchayat Lalru.Sh. Sharma said that 22 cow ranch has been established in the state which will be a blessing for stray cows and for protection of livestock. He said that many a time stray animals cause road accidents which will be prevented up to great extent now. Sh. Sharma said that taking an important decision Punjab Govt. has decided to provide free electricity & Vat refund to 472 cow ranches in the state. Besides this efforts have been done to provide feed & medicines for the cattle's. He said that veterinary doctor has also been deputed for the cattles. He said that relevant arrangements have been ensured for the cows at here. 

Besides providing cow shed, a tubewell for drinking water and feeding platform has also been provided. He said that very soon a Bio Gas Plant will also be established which will be beneficial for general public. He urged the social service organisations to contribute for cow ranches so that their successful operation could be ensured.He said that present Govt. respects every religion and is committed for welfare of general public. As such, he Govt. has also established memorial in the honour of our great royal and historic culture. Explaining the achievements of state Govt., Sh. Sharma said that present govt. has provided direction of development to the state. Lashing on Aam Aadmi Party, Sh. Sharma said that people of Punjab will not get befooled by anyone and people of Punjab are now aware about the failure of AAP Govt. in Delhi at every front. 

During this he honoured the representatives of various social service organisations.Before this, Deputy Commissioner Sh. D.S.Mangat said that main objective of govt. by constructing these cow ranches is to protect the live stock if the state and he also urged the social organisations & general public to contribute for efficient functioning of cow ranches. Earlier SDM Dera Bassi Sh. Shiv Kumar welcomed the guests and general public. During this renowned social worker Dr. V.N.Sharma, Deputy Commissioner (Development) Sh. Bhupinder Singh and other reputed persons were present.
