Fast food got a new moving address in Srinagar city with the opening of ‘Chew N Brew’, a mobile food van on Thursday.The outlet was inaugurated on Jhelum banks today amid a gathering of more than 200 people. The innovative fast food outlet is sponsored by Jammu and Kashmiri Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) under its Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS).‘Chew N Brew’ fast food outlet is outcome of hard work and online research of Sajad Ahmad Bhat, a young management graduate from Wazir Bagh, Srinagar. Bhat had learnt the basics of running a fast food outlet in Pune immediately after completing his MBA from Bharatiya Vidyapeeth University (BVP).The base kitchen of ‘Chew N Brew’ is stationed at Jawahar Nagar while four people including Sajad run the mobile food truck.
‘Chew N Brew’ uses two fixed spots at different timings to serve the food lovers in the city. From 2 PM to 6.30 PM the food truck halts on Jhelum banks on Silk Factory Road. The food truck then swiftly moves to its second spot outside Lal Ded Hospital and remains open till 11 PM.‘Chew N Brew’ has nine delicious fast food non-veg items on its menu in its first phase. These include tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, fish tikka, fish fry, chicken shorma, chicken momos, chicken biryani, butter chicken and chicken kanti.In second phase ‘Chew N Brew’ shall add chowmin, fried rice, mutton varieties, vegetable food, Kashmiri kababs, fresh fruit juices, soft drinks and coffee to its menu.
