Heat wave conditions continued in the desert state of Rajasthan on Wednesday, with the mercury in many places still hovering between 40 and 43 degrees Celsius, officials said.Kota was the hottest city with a maximum temperature of 43.4 degrees. The minimum temperature was also high at 28.6 degrees Celsius.State capital Jaipur was scorching at 41.1 degrees, one degree above normal. Here too, the minimum was high at 27.2 degrees, almost two degrees above normal.Churu was sweltering at 41.8, Sri Ganganagar at 39.5 and Barmer at 40.7 degrees Celsius.
Jodhpur was hot at 40.1 and Ajmer, famous for its dargah of the Garib Nawaz, had a maximum of 39.6 degrees Celsius.The weather office said temperatures were likely to see a decline in the next two days due to dust and thunderstorms and rains in some parts of the state."Dust or thunderstorms with rain are likely to occur at isolated places in the state," a weather department official told IANS.In Jaipur, the official said, the maximum and minimum temperatures on Thursday were likely to be around 40 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively.
