Rs. 56.79 Crore loans for self employment to minorities

State Government was committed towards socio-economic upliftment of the minorities and various welfare schemes were being implemented for their welfare. Himachal Pradesh Minorities Finance and Development Corporation had distributed loans worth Rs. 56.79 Crore to 3427 deserving persons of minorities and differently abled for setting up their own ventures.Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. (Col) Dhani Ram Shandil stated this while presiding over the 40th meeting of Board of Directors, HP Minorities Finance and Development Corporation, here today.Dr. Shandil said that as many as 2123 persons of minorities had been provided loan of Rs. 30.45 Crore besides a sum of Rs. 26.34 Crore to the 1304 differently abled for self employment where as Rs. 27.02 lakh had been provided as education loan to 17 eligible persons, adding that Rs 1162.05 lakh loan has been provided to 311 specially abled persons for higher studies.

He urged the members of BoD, PRIs and officers of various departments to ensure timely delivery of benefits of various schemes of the Government to beneficiaries in every nook and corner of the State and not a single eligible should remain deprived. He asked the banks to simplify the loan process. He also asked the PRIs for timely completion of required formalities while forwarding proposals of the cases of social security pensions.Managing Director HP Minorities Finance and Development Corporation Shri C.S. Singh conducted the proceedings. He informed that the Corporation had been organizing awareness camps from time to time so as to ensure the benefit of welfare schemes to the eligible and nine such camps were organised during last fiscal and the calendar for current fiscal was being prepared.Director HP Minorities Finance and Development Corporation Shri Sandeep Bhatnagar, Board of Directors Shri Ashok Messi, Shri Liyaquet Ali and Smt Acchar Bibi also participated in the meeting.
