Women Empowerment Seminar was today held in village Kralveth of Tangmarg area in which hundreds of local students including Civil and Police officials of the local administration participated.The 29RR Camp at Sagribatpora is located in a remote sparsely populated area. The area has remained a traditionally a farmers belt with limited exposure to the youth to the transforming opportunities available for young minds especially girls. The Company Commander, at RR Camp Sagribatpora conceptualised a one of its kind event of a ‘Women Empowerment’ initiative for the aspiring girls of various schools of this area and organized a seminar at Govt Girls High School, Karalviet on 03 May 2016 under the aegis of Chinar Corps.The Seminar which was attended by hundreds of school girls had a series of interactive motivational talks by established women speakers from various fields, viz Dr (Ms) Rifat Bashir, Mrs Farzana Akhtar, Media Person & Ms Yakoot, Advocate, Session Court, Tangmarg.
The Inspiring lectures by these prominent ladies incited young minds to express their inhibitions and clear their doubts. The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Dr Zulfikar Sofi, BMO, Kunzer, Mr. Rameez Rahid Bhat, SDPO, Tanmarg, Mr. Fareed Ahmed, ZEO, Kunzer, Mrs. Mehmoda Aktar Proj offr, Integrated Child Devp Scheme (ICDS) and Mrs. Ishrat Parvez, Principal, Govt Girls High School, Karalviet . The audience also witnessed a skit prepared and presented by school students on women issues prevailing in society . Commander,10 RR Sector, Hyderbeig was the Chief Guest on the occasion and was accompanied by Commanding Officer, RR Battalion, Widdipora, Pattan. Commander in his address to this august gathering, at the out-set, conveyed his gratitude to all prominent dignitaries who graced the occasion especially the ladies. He highlighted that history is witness that those human civilization which has respected its women folks and given them their due place is society have survived the test of time. Such seminar is an endeavour by Army to empower the young girls to get a firsthand experience from successful lady icons of their society. Mr Riyaz Ahmed a local resident said that the locals were grateful to the Army yet again was able to strengthen the belief of the local populace towards its intentions in extending full support to development of the State. Commander wished all the young minds a glorious future.
