Putting all speculations over the appointment of new successor of the party to rest, Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani Monday said that the party ‘is well aware what do after his death’.While addressing a presser at his Hyderpora residence here, Geelani told reporters that he will continue as the chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat as well as All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC).Geelani said “Tehreek e Hurryat and APHC is well aware what do after my death.”Geelani, who continues to remain under house detention, while referring to the recent Supreme Court direction wherein SC has directed that all medical seats would be filled through National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), said that the state should not be brought under the NEET for admissions in medical colleges.“The step is another conspiracy of the government to change demography of the state. After conducting exams via NEET, the government will send and appoint the doctors from outside the state to treat the patients here,” he said.He alleged that Government of India (GoI) is acting against the special status of the state and abrogating its status by targeting educational institutions like National Institute of Technology.Geelani said that the recent controversy erupted in NIT College after the central government has successfully changed its demography by turning local Muslim students as a minority in the engineering college.

Taking a dig on the PDP-BJP government, Geelani said: “The state government is working on behalf of Hindutva elements and is taking directives to change the overall demography of Jammu and Kashmir.”Geelani said that the recent statement of an UN official over K-issue is against the aim and mission of United Nations itself.Geelani also reiterated his call for implementation of 18 UN resolutions on Kashmir and said that the recent statement of UN Peace Building Commission Chairman (Macharia Kamau) is against the aim and mission of UN.Kamau according to the reports has said that K-issue will be resolved in the context of the local domestic political environment between Pakistan and India.Geelani sad that K-issue is not any border issue, adding that, “K-issue is a human issue involving more than 1 Crore people.”

While responding to a query over the statement of Indian deputy MEA, VK Singh, in which he has said that Hurriyat leaders are citizens of India and can meet anyone, Geelani said, “Kashmir is international accepted dispute, which has also been accepted by India. Our birth right has been promised to us at International level and UN resolutions from basis of our struggle.”Appealing people to make his party and the trust he heads strong, Geelani told people that support the Milli Trust. Pertinently, Geelani in the year 2014 transferred his personal property to newly formed ‘Milli Trust’.Geelani said that despite facing molestation, the Handawara girl continues to remain under police custody. “The girl should be released soon,” Geelani said.He said that unfortunately, in Handwara, FIR’s have been registered against the employees, protesters instead of the force personnel involved in the killing of civilians including a woman and the personnel who molested the minor girl in the area.He also said that forces in Jammu and Kashmir are constructing concrete buildings in the state, which indicates that they have full plan to settle in Kashmir.“The forces have occupied lands in Kashmir are currently occupying the open lands in the state,” he said.
