Over 11000 streetlights restored in Kashmir: Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon

The Divisional Administration has restored over 11000 defunct streetlights in different parts of Kashmir Valley of which over 500 lights were restored in Srinagar during last twenty days.The information was given while the Divisional Commissioner, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon reviewed the progress made by different Departments to restore the defunct streetlights on Wednesday.According to figures submitted by Srinagar Municipal Corporation, 501 defunct streetlights were restored in eight constituencies of Srinagar city.  As per the figures, 110 defunct streetlights were restored in Amira Kadal constituency, 115 in Hazratbal, 47 in Sonawar, 28 in Eidgah, 53 in Habba Kadal, 105 in Batmaloo, 15 in Zadibal and 28 in Khanyar constituency of Srinagar.The Divisional Commissioner directed the SMC and the Power Development Department to complete the process of restoring all the remaining defunct streetlights in their areas within a month.
