Describing the ‘Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday’ a historic campaign, Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga said that the coordinated efforts of government and people will surely strengthen the Panchayati Raj institutions and would help in developing the rural areas.The Minister was addressing the gathering during a function organized by the Rural Development Department to celebrate National Panchayati Raj Day at block Vijaypur.District Development Commissioner Samba Sheetal Nanda, SDM Vijaypur Rajnish Gupta, GM DIC Samba Krishan Lal, Chief Agricultural Officer Samba Kulbushan Sambyal and concerned officers were present on the occasion.The Minister appreciated the efforts of Rural Development Department for making the ‘Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday’ campaign a success. He said that during the ten days of campaign, villagers especially women of rural areas actively participated in the Gram Sabhas and shared their views to strengthen the Panchayti Raj system. He also appealed the masses to participate in the Gram Sabhas on regular basis for the overall development of rural population. The campaign is culminating but it is the beginning of the commitments to strengthen our rural economy, he added.
While speaking on the occasion, Ganga said that the various initiatives taken up by the Union and State governments would ensure all modern facilities to the people residing in the rural areas so that their lives would be uplifted at par with the urban areas. The main aim behind launching the ‘Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday’ campaign was to educate the rural masses about welfare and development schemes, he further said.Stressing on strengthening of Panchayti Raj institutions, Ganga said that these are important for ensuring development in rural areas and all stakeholders should work in a coordinated manner for development of rural population.Ganga asked the officers to put in sincere efforts in creating durable assets especially in the rural areas so that the people would be benefitted for long. He also directed them to reach out to rural population to aware them of various welfare schemes especially designed for them.
The Minister along with others present on the occasion also watched the speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi telecasted live from Jamshedpur in Jharkhand on the culmination day of ‘Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday’ campaign.Meanwhile, during the function, the Minister also felicitated 5 progressive farmers of district Samba for their exceptional performance in mushroom cultivation.Sarpanches, panches and large number of people from various panchayats were present on the occasion.Later the Minister visited the village Chack Salarian to assess the damage in the area due to fire incident. He was informed that around 70 kanal of standing wheat crop was damaged due to short circuit.Expressing concern over the loss of crops, the Minister assured the farmers of appropriate compensation and directed the DDC Samba to submit a detailed report to Relief and Rehabilitation department for additional claim of damaged crops.
