FC Revenue reviews functioning of Revenue Department at Anantnag

Financial Commissioner, Revenue (FCR), Pramod Kumar Jain today held meetings with officers of Revenue and other allied departments to review the functioning of the department in  Anantnag district.Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed, ACR, SDMs of Kokernag, Pahalgam, Dooru, Tehsildars, and Naib Tehsildars of the district were present in  the meeting.On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner gave a detailed revenue profile of the district and the functioning of Revenue department besides the status of new administrative units of the district. He also put forth the details of infrastructure required for smooth functioning of newly created administrative units of the district before the Financial Commissioner.He also informed that in the district more than 9000 kanal of Khaicharai land and  3874 kanal of state land has been evicted so far in the district. The Deputy Commissioner said under the Public Services Guarantee Act, Revenue offices of the district received 1.10 lakh applications out of 1.09 lakh (98%) were disposed off under the fixed timeframe.

Calling for bringing back the old glory of the department, the Financial Commissioner impressed upon the officers to provide extra attention to the matters related to upkeep of revenue records, which act as feeding notes for the functioning of other departments.He impressed upon the officers to conduct regular tours of their jurisdictions to corroborate land records with the actual position on ground. He also called for expediting the disposal of revenue related cases, and update of revenue records with special emphasis on the conduct of Girdawari as per the guidelines.The Financial Commissioner also directed the Tehsildars of the district to maintain tour diaries and furnish the same with the Deputy Commissioner by 10 May. He said that tours are an effective means by which revenue officials especially Pawtwaris and Girdawars connect to common people.He said that digitization of Revenue records of Anantnag would start in the next month which would mark a new beginning in the update and upkeep of revenue records.
