Under the ongoing 'Gramoday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan' launched by the Modi-led government , former Punjab BJP President Kamal Sharma today undertook a whirlwind tour to various villages of Fazilka,Malout & Abohar. Addressing a huge gathering at village Lallo wali in Fazilka constituency, Shri Sharma said that Modi government was working as a democratically elected government in real terms. "The people of India have, for the first time, seen a government for the people, of the people and by the people", he remarked, while terming the 'Gramoday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan', as one of the biggest initiatives of Modi, for reaching out to people in the rural India.

Shri Sharma said, "Had anyone seen before ministers and government functionaries, all across the nation, going to villages to update the people about various schemes and policies of the union government besides taking feedback from the masses. It is being done only by the present regime." He further said that earlier precedence was that after assuming power, government and its ministers remained 'missing' for four and half years and used to re-surface only six months before the electoral battle.

Shri Sharma said that Modi government has put an end to the unhealthy practice of bureaucracy formulating policies at their own level without taking ground realities into account. "Modi has changed the wrong trends set up by the Congress governments. Today, the elected representatives, as well as the administrative authorities, are very much in the field and are not just making people aware about schemes rolled out by NDA but also taking feedback and the issues concerning the rural India", he said.

Asserting that the vision of Prime Minister is to make sure how the rural parts of the country witness progress, Shri Sharma said, "India as a whole will progress only if rural India would be strengthened and the Gramoday to Bharat Uday Abhiyan, aimed at focusing attention on the development work to be done in villages, is a step in that direction." He told the gathering that under NDA regime, the government resolve is to make the Panchayati Raj institutions stronger and vibrant. "Various central schemes includingPradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana and Krishi Sinchai Yojana, to name a few, are for the betterment of the people", he said.
