Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement on Thursday held a peaceful protest demonstration against state terrorism and Human rights violations at Press enclave in Srinagar.Senior party leaders and activists participated in the protest demonstration and raised slogans against Indian forces for un leashing terrorism and perpetrating grave human rights violations in Kashmir.However, Salvation Movement Chairman Zaffer Akbar Bhat couldn’t participate in protest demo, as he continues to be under house detention since last two weeks. Authorities have curbed his political, religious and social activities and even are not being allowed to offer Friday prayers.Senior leader Molvi Rafiq and Imtiyaz ahmed led the protest demonstration.Interacting with media, the senior leaders said that bullets and tear smoke shells are being showered on innocent Kashmiris; peaceful protests of youth are being curbed by using lethal weapons and innocents are being killed.
They raised slogans against state terrorism, human rights violations and use of brutal and excessive force on peaceful protesters. Leaders said Kashmiris not only loose precious lives but also suffer huge economical losses due to grave injuries. Despite spending huge money, hardly an injured youth recovers from his injuries otherwise most of them suffer permanent disabilities.Reiterating demand of fair time bound inquiry into Handwara killings, Molvi Rafiq and Mehraj-ud-din asked New Delhi to give exemplary punishment to armed men involved in these killings, so that in future no forces personnel dares to take advantage of black laws to kill innocent Kashmiris.He said that no inquiry committee, constituted to probe killings has so far served the purpose as these committees failed to provide justice to victims.
Leaders said that demilitarization of Kashmir, civilian areas in particular will guarantee safety and security of Kashmiris. They said that removal of one or two bankers can’t stop the occurrence of human rights violations.They demanded an end to harassment of Kashmiri student in and outside Jammu Kashmir and asked New Delhi to provide secure environment to students so that they can shape their future.Leaders said that Kashmiris were not terrorists but demanding political rights peacefully and political is ineligible right of Kashmiris. He demanded immediate and unconditional release of all political detainees languishing in Jails besides release of incarcerated Salvation Movement Chairman Bhat.Meanwhile, on the directions of Bhat a high level delegation of JKSM leaders Ghulam ahmed Azad, Ashiq Hussain, Irshad Ahmed, Sarwar Khan, Mushtaq Nasir visited the martyrs family of Handwara, Kupwara and expressed solidarity with them.
