Scores of activists of International Forum for justice and Human Rights JK (IFJHRJK) Wednesday held protests here at Press Enclave against the ‘prevailing’ human rights violations in Kashmir especially after the Handwara incident. The protest was led by Chairman IFJHRJK Muhamamd Ahsan Untoo while the protesters who were carrying placards demanded an immediate halt to continuous human rights violations in Kashmir Valley.Talking to reporters, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo while condemning the human rights violations and ‘police brutality’ demanded that the FIR should be withdrawn against Hilal Ahmed Banday and others who were part of the protests in Handwara.“Removal of Bunker at Handwara has cost us the lives of five people.

The army personnel should be punished as per the law,” he said.“Enquiry committees that are being constituted after such incidents are only to buy time and have always proved needless. We have seen how Shopian dual rape and murder and other such incidents were silently buried by the enquiry committees. We can never expect justice from Indian courts and its establishment,” he said.He questions the International community for maintaining criminal silence over Kashmir which has been turned into an exhibition of human rights violations and killings. Chairman Youngmens league Imtiyaz Ahmed Reshi was also part of the protest to show solidarity. (CNS)
