In order to celebrate “Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan”(Village Self Governance Campaign), a central government initiative beginning with the Birth Anniversary of Dr B.R. Ambedkar on April 14 2016, review meetings were held today in Kulgam and Bandipora districts. In Kulgam a meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani today.It was given out in the meeting that the main aim of the Abiyan Campaign is to boost social harmony in the villages, strengthen the Panchayat Raj system besides promoting rural development and foster farmer’s welfare.The Additional Deputy Commissioner enjoined upon all the District Officers to collaborate among the various development welfare departments of the district to make the campaign a grand success.Similarly in Bandipora a meeting was held under the chairmanship of DDC Sajad Hussain with regard to implementation of the programme.In order to make the programme a success, village level committees along with one member each from various departments will prepare comprehensive report regarding development works so that overall development of the district is ensured.It is worth to mention that under “Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday” a week long program of Rural Development Department is going to organize Gram Panchayat wise schedule of events for “Social Harmony Program (to be organized from 14th to 16th ) and Village Kisan Sabha(to be held from 17th to 20th) and Special Gram Sabhas to be held in all Panchayats from 14th April to 24thApril 2016.
