Govt committed to provide good governance: Abdul Haq

Minister for Rural Development &  Panchayati Raj and Law & Justice, Abdul Haq , said the new government under the stewardship of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, is committed to provide good governance to the people of the state.He said this during a meeting held at Anantnag to review the progress on implementation of the decisions taken during last year’s board meeting for the district.The Minister said Chief Minister is personally monitoring all the developmental activities in the state and is keen to develop conducive work culture for optimum results.While assessing various developmental activities in the district, Abdul Haq directed concerned officers to expedite the works so that all projects are completed in a time bound manner.Earlier, during the extensive visit of the district the Minister reviewed the progress achieved under different sectors. 

On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Younis Malik gave a detailed briefing to the Minister about various projects and the implementation of the DDB decisions. Under R&B sector, 22 Km road has been black-topped under district sector besides 29.05 km and 580 RM drains have been constructed under WBM. Under RIDF, 3 new schemes Pehroo-Rampora-Rambirpora road,  Deethu-Sonachroad and Magraypora-Nanil have been sanctioned with a total estimated cost of Rs 11.43 crore.Under MGNREGA, against the allocation of Rs 39.24 crore, 99.63% achievement has been recorded. Besides, 5398 works have been completed generating 23.67 lakh mandays till February, 2016. Under SBM, Rs 23.80 lakh have been utilized against the availability of Rs. 24.75 lakh. Against the target of 26642 individual household latrines, 11868  have been constructed.   

In the power sector, 92 transformers have been repaired in the district sector while a proposal of Rs 66 crore under Deendayal Upadhyaya  Gram  Jyoti Yojana has been submitted to the central government for  upgradation of T&D system.The Minister was informed that under AMRUT, a proposal of ‘Greater Anantnag’ has been approved for which Rs 21 crore have been allocated for the year 2015-16 which would cover the drainage, sewerage, storm water treatment and beautification.During the inspection of works, the Minister appreciated the performance of the executing departments and expected that the concerned officers will work dedicatedly for quality and timely completion.The review meeting was attended by SE R&B/ Hydraulics/ EM&RE, Exen PDD/PMGSY, CPO, ACD, and all the district-level officers.
