Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary today exhorted upon the orphans and youth of border areas to come forward and compete for getting better avenues in order to contribute to the development of the society.This was stated by the Minister while addressing a public gathering on the eve of Baisakhi Mela organized by a social organization PAHAL with the support of Border Security Force (BSF) for orphans and people from old age home at Suchetgarh border.

While appreciating the initiatives of the organization in holding such programs, Sham Choudhary said that government is committed to improve socio economic profile of the people living in the border areas. He assured that the coalition government will provide every possible support to further improve their living standards.The Minister also visited different stalls including food stalls, Fun and Games for the children and the old aged people.DIG BSP Baljeet Singh Kasana, Captain Bana Singh (Param Veerchakra), Chairman PAHAL, Deepak Aggarwal besides people from all walks of life attended the mela.Later, a multilingual cultural program was also presented which mesmerized the people present on the occasion.
