Peoples Democratic Party legislators who were dropped from the council of ministers in the new PDP-BJP government Tuesday said that they accept the party’s decision and consider it supreme. The former ministers ruled out any feeling disappointment after being dropped from the new council.

PDP MLA from Sonawar, Ashraf Mir, said that he considers the party’s decision supreme and is comfortable after being dropped.“I am happy and comfortable with the decision of the party. I respect the party’s decision and consider it supreme. I will be part of the development of the Valley and will continue to work for the development and welfare of Sonawar constituency,” Mir told KNS.Mir was Minister of State for Housing and Urban development, and PDD in the PDP-BJP alliance-I. Mir was called as ‘giant killer’ for defeating former chief minister Omar Abdullah in the last Assembly election from Sonawar which was till then held by National Conference.

MLA from Noorabad in Kulgam district Abdul Majeed Padder said that he respected the party president’s decision but people in his constituency feel let down.“I am not unhappy or disappointed for being dropped from the council of ministers. All the MLAs wanted Mehbooba ji to become chief minister and form the government,” Padder told KNS.“However, people in my constituency are feeling sad because it has always been a tradition with Noorabad that whichever government was ruling the state they would make the elected candidate a minister. But today all of a sudden the constituency is deprived from ministry, people are unhappy,” he said.Padder who was Minister of State for PHE, had defeated NC’s Sakina Itoo from Noorabad segment.“But I am not unhappy. I will work as an MLA and will follow the decisions of Mehbooba ji. People have elected me as MLA for six years, I will continue to work for their development and welfare,” he said.PDP dropped four ministers from their quota in the new government headed by chief minister Mehbooba Mufti.
