Divisional Commissioner Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon Tuesday in a meeting convened to review the safety of under construction Rambagh-Jehangir Chowk Flyover project said that safety of any project should be of utmost importance.The Div Com instructed the concerned for safety audit of flyover to be taken up as soon as possible. He was assured by the officials that the visual safety audit would be completed within a fortnight and complete design safety audit would be completed within three months.The meeting was informed that adequate measures have been taken in accordance with norms of Asian Development Bank to ensure safety of life and property. It was given out in the meeting that 12 slabs have already been for the under construction flyover and work is going on in full swing.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner reviewed the steps being taken to implement the traffic diversion plan. He asked the officials of Traffic Department, R&B, SDA and SMC to prepare roads, remove encroachments on various roads so that the traffic diversion starts smoothly. He asked officials to complete all formalities to start alternate traffic diversion .The meeting was informed that once the traffic diversion plan is implemented the work on Rambagh flyover will also be speeded up.The meeting was attended by officials of Economic Reconstruction Agency, Roads and Buildings, SDA, Traffic police and other departments.
