Reacting to statements of Aam Aadmi Party leaders on sending the Akali leaders to jail in issue of drugs, the Union Minister for Food Processing Mrs Harsimrat Kaur Badal said that the issue of drugs was raked up before our government came to power. The then Congress government at center got enquiry conducted from five central agencies but could not find anything incriminating against us, then what evidences could the AAP find? She said that the AAP leaders should imporve and save themselves from going behind bars.Answering media query on Jawahar Lal Nehru University's student president Kanhaiya Kumar's statement on 1984 anti-Sikh riots, the Union Minister said that it was a matter of shame that a student leader, forgetting the issues of students, is saying that the 1984 riots were result riots by common crowd. This despite the fact these riots were organized on the behest of government wherein a leader had said that when a big tree falls, the earth moves. She said that even after 30 years the Sikh government was making efforts to bring action against accused Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar.
During her today's visit, the Union Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stone of porjects worth crores. At village Behniwal she laid foundation stone of Rs 491.94 lacs works for re-lining drains, at villahe Ramdittewala she laidf foundation stone for work of Rs 177 lacs of irrigation department was laying underground pipes. She also laid foundation stone of 66 kv power grid to be constructed in grain market at cost of Rs 3.50 lacs that will supply power to Mansa city and around three to four villages around it. She also laid foundation stone of works in ward numbers 6 to 15 worth Rs 207.31 lacs.Thereafter, she inaugurated the newly constructed 30 bedded women-children hospital worth Rs 4.62 cr. Under Urban Mission she laid foundation stone of developmental works to be done from wards 16 to 21 near Gurudwara Doomb Wala worth Rs 135.78 lacs. She also laid foundation stone of works to be done in streets of ward number 22 to 27 worth Rs 159.57 lacs.
At village Theekriwala Butt near court road from ward number 1 to 5 she laid foundation stone of works to be done worth Rs 297.51 lacs. She inaugurated the Consumer Suwidha Center constructed in 400 sq yards of area worth Rs 40 lacs by the Punjab State Power Corporation. Besides this she also laid foundation stone of repair of Mansa to NM COllege ROad to be done worth Rs 57 lacs.At local Gandhi Nagar School around 150 families joined Akali Dal under MC Mukand Singh, Karnail Kaur and Maghar Singh.The MLA Mansa Mr Prem Mittal, DC Mansa Mr Varinder Sharma, SSP Raghbir Singh Sandhu, Chairman District Planning Commetee Mr. Prem Arora, Chairman Zila Parishad Mr. Sukhdev Singh Chainewala, Chairman Punseed Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Aulakh, Chairman Market Commetee Mansa Mr. Rachpal Singh and others were also present.
