Bikram Singh Majithia, Revenue & Information and Public Relations Minister today made a fervent appeal to all the Panchayats to play an active role in the implementation of the welfare schemes. He made this appeal today during public gatherings in various villages of the districts meant for disbursing welfare grants to these villages. He said that Panchayats are very crucial instruments of the democratic set up and they have big role to play for the sensitization of the masses about the government polices and schemes.
Mr. Majithia today had whirlwind tour of Sapariwind, Kila, Bhaini Lidhar and Gosal Zimidaran villages to review the progress of various development works. He also distributed welfare grants to these villages. Taking a jibe at Captain Amarinder Singh, Member Parliament from Amritsar for his mysterious absence from the Parliament, Mr. Majithia said that Captain had deceived the people of this parliamentary constituency for not highlighting the demands in the Parliament. He said that various burning issues of this constituency like the problems of boarder area habitants, land beyond fence, and issues of industry needs urgent attention of the Union Government. He said that Captain Amarinder has drastically failed in raking up these issues in the parliament. He said the valiant inhabitant of Amritsar would never forgive Captain Amarinder for his this act of backstabbing for not raising the demands of the people in the Parliament.
