The Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today laid foundation of Tile work project at Ward No. 3 of Narwal Panchayat.The execution of the project which costs Rs 2.50 lakh is being carried out by Rural Development Department (RDD) under MGNREGA.The Speaker also inspected various ongoing developmental works being carried out by Rural Development Department in the area.Speaking on the occasion, Mr Gupta stressed upon the concerned to complete the work within stipulated timeframe without compromising on quality. He said laying of Tiles on internal lanes was the long pending demand of the inhabitants of the area.

The Speaker also convened a public meeting with the locals and listened to their problems including construction and upgradation of lanes and drains, providing adequate and safe drinking water, installation of new electric wires and poles, cleanliness of main nallah in the area.Responding to the demands regarding lifting of garbage, the Speaker urged the locals not to throw garbage on road sides and drains. He said the garbage should be dumped at specific sites wherefrom it will be lifted by the concerned authorities.Speaker sought support of people in implementing developmental agenda and assured that all necessary measures are being taken to meet basic requirements of the people of the area.Block Development Officer, Satwari, Arun Khajuria, prominent citizens, a large number of people besides senior officers of concerned department accompanied the Speaker.
