The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today said that extension in special industrial package to adjoining states till 2017 is an unfortunate attempt of congress led UPA Government to derail the tempo of investment in Punjab. Mr Badal dared the PPCC President Mr Partap Singh Bajwa to stage a “Dharna” in front of 10 Janpath against this decision if he has any courage. Talking to media persons along with Revenue Minister Mr Bikram Singh Majithia after inaugurating Fortis Health Care Hospital worth Rs 350 crore here today, Mr Badal asserted that the grand success of Progressive Punjab Investors summit has put the state on fast investment track that is not suitable to Congress party due to its anti Punjab stance. Taking a dig at Partap Singh Bajwa, Dy CM said that Punjab Congress leaders were only utilizing their energy to assist the Congress high command to deprive the Punjab from its due rights and congress working as a “speed breaker” to the overall development of state. Mr. Badal has also said that Punjab Government was really looking towards medical sector as the state has a great potential to emerge as a medical hub of the country. Emphasizing on intensification of medical tourism in the state he added that 2 medical universities would be set up in Medi-City at New Chandigarh. Besides, University of California would also establish its first overseas campus at Educity at Mohali. Earlier, Mr Badal inaugurated the Fortis green field hospital at Jamalpur, Ludhiana having multi super-specialties besides laying foundation stone of its branch named La-Femme at mall road, especially for women and children worth Rs 125 crore. Speaking on the occasion Mr Malvinder Mohan Singh and Shivinder Mohan Singh, Executive Chairman and Executive Vice Chairman have announced to establish state of art Fortis Cancer Institute at Mohali.Prominent amongst present on the occasion included Advisor to Chief Minister Mr Mahesinder Singh Grewal, former union minister Mr Balwant Singh Ramoowalia, MLA Ranjit Singh Dhillon and Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria.
